In order to close a projected a $4.9 billion deficit in New York city's fiscal year 2011 budget, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced a number of "cost-saving measures. They include: 4- pools would be closed and outdoor pool season would be cut by two weeks. (So for those extra hot summer days we usually get randomly at the end of August no where to cool off) , 20 fire companies would be closed (talk about a fire hazard), 248 case workers would be eliminated at the HIV/AIDS services Administration, 291 uniformed corrections officers would be eliminated, and 892 police officers would be lost through attrition. Is the all for the better or for worst?
