Today our student made Valentine's Day "Candy Bags" a very inexpensive arts & craft activity you can do at home with your children. Just get a small paper bag, cut construction paper into body parts of the "bear", glue & paste, fill with candy and your done! The two bags pictured were created by children who have Autism. Peep the "broken heart" someone really wasn't into the celebration LOL

My little cousins Mariah & Lala (Armani) definitly deserve a CHECK! An governement check that is lol!! These girls are crazy. They have been asking me non-stop to check out their video on you tube. I could not stop laughing. They rap for almost 4 minutes and they are actually FREESTYLING something that most of you "rapping off your Blackberry; rappers no nothing about.

Maybe I was expecting a little more, maybe I couldn't figure out why this song sounded so familiar to me. I was left in awe for a while then it hit me... BAM! This song sounds EXACTLY like Madonna's "Express Yourself" You guys be the judge!

There has been a big "trend' going on with a lot people wanting to have lighter skin. I watched a docutmentary on it and it was scary that people did not considered them selves beautiful because their skin was of a darker shade. Alledgely Whitney Houston's daughter has jumped on the band wagon... Im hoeping this is a rumor. Posted earlier to today on the Media take out website were pictures of Bobbi K. looking fairly lighter even though her skin wasnt very dark to begin with.

Black History Month

It's black history month. This is probably the only time during the year when we learn a little bit about the African American culture. Then again its everything corporate America wants us to know. The books give us a watered down version. I decided I will post and continue to post at least on random or unknown fact about Black History... I started off with Dr. Martin Luther King he is one of the most recognized faces. 

King was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was pastor of a Baptist church, his mother a schoolteacher. Originally named Michael, he was renamed Martin when he was about six years old.

He entered Morehouse College in 1944, and here he met Dr Benjamin Mays, a scholar who encouraged him to enter the ministry. After graduating in 1948, King went to Crozer Religious Seminary to undertake post-graduate study. He received his doctorate in 1955.
