Valentine's Day Candy Bags

Today our student made Valentine's Day "Candy Bags" a very inexpensive arts & craft activity you can do at home with your children. Just get a small paper bag, cut construction paper into body parts of the "bear", glue & paste, fill with candy and your done! The two bags pictured were created by children who have Autism. Peep the "broken heart" someone really wasn't into the celebration LOL

Graffiti Pump in Mondrian Davis by Ruthie Davis

Ruthie Davis is well known for her in Italian made shoes and her unique little brass button looking embellishments her heels. (Her blog is interesting too, if you’d like to have a peek on the inner workings of what it takes to make a Ruthie Davis heel.)

These flouro graffiti pumps were worn at at the WMA by Solange Knowles in late 2008.

I know these shoes came out seasons ago... but I know them to pieces. Very flirty for spring/summer.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way (Single Premiere) LISTEN

 L

I'm not too crazy about the latest from Lady Gaga... the highly anticipated "Born this Way" Single premiered earlier today and I was just left confused. Maybe I was expecting a little more, maybe I couldn't figure out why this song sounded so familiar to me. I was left in awe for a while then it hit me... BAM! This song sounds EXACTLY like Madonna's "Express Yourself" You guys be the judge!

Madonna's Express Yourself

"Lady Gaga, one of the most recognized music artists in the world, has partnered with Target, my favorite store, to offer fans an exclusive deluxe edition of her new album, Born This Way. Fans can pre-order Lady Gaga's album and download her first single and title track, "Born This Way," free by going here beginning at 8 AM CST today, Friday, February 11th through midnight, Friday, February 26th.

"Target and Lady Gaga together is a win-win," said Troy Carter, Lady Gaga's manager, and chairman and chief executive officer of Coalition Media Group. "The partnership provides us with an opportunity to really engage the fans early and widen our reach on the album promotion."

Lady Gaga will release her third full-length album, Born This Way, on May 23rd. Target's exclusive deluxe edition includes three additional studio songs and five remixes, and will be available at stores nationwide and on Target.com".  - Via ArtistDirect.com

Bobbi Kristina (Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown's daughter) Bleaching skin?!?!

Before

There has been a big "trend' going on with a lot people wanting to have lighter skin. I watched a docutmentary on it and it was scary that people did not considered them selves beautiful because their skin was of a darker shade. Alledgely Whitney Houston's daughter has jumped on the band wagon... Im hoeping this is a rumor. Posted earlier to today on the Media take out website were pictures of Bobbi K. looking fairly lighter even though her skin wasnt very dark to begin with.

After

I know one thing she needs to fix that gap in her motuh ASAP... reminds me of a crack head.

Here are some pictures of other celebrities that have gotten into skin bleaching...

Who Really Invented the Light Bulb?

History has credited Thomas Edison with the invention of the light bulb, but fewer people know about Lewis Latimer's innovations toward its development. Until Latimer's process formaking carbon filament, Edison's light bulbs would only burn for a few minutes. Latimer'sfilament burned for several hours.

Black History Month

It's black history month. This is probably the only time during the year when we learn a little bit about the African American culture. Then again its everything corporate America wants us to know. The books give us a watered down version. I decided I will post and continue to post at least on random or unknown fact about Black History... I started off with Dr. Martin Luther King he is one of the most recognized faces.

King was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was pastor of a Baptist church, his mother a schoolteacher. Originally named Michael, he was renamed Martin when he was about six years old.

He entered Morehouse College in 1944, and here he met Dr Benjamin Mays, a scholar who encouraged him to enter the ministry. After graduating in 1948, King went to Crozer Religious Seminary to undertake post-graduate study. He received his doctorate in 1955.
